Kelly Young is a passionate health and fitness professional, entrepreneur, and dedicated leader who values consistent efforts, serving her community and being on a mission to get stronger physically and mentally. As a certified Personal Trainer through the National Academy of Sports Medicine and with a Master’s in Public Health, she has enjoyed a long and rewarding career helping people make incredible, lifelong transformations. She is the founder of INERGY Kelly’s Bootcamp. Both voted Best of Northern Virginia for indoor and outdoor training.

Kelly takes her role as a fitness professional very seriously and believes that she has a gift when it comes to bringing out the best in her clients and team of trainers – helping them to see how powerful the benefits of fitness can genuinely be. Her 30 years of experience, ongoing education, and passion for real change make her a sought-after expert in the health and fitness industry. In 2022 Kelly became a published coauthor in a collaborative book, What’s Next? Igniting Change and Impact in Health, Fitness, and Life…NOW!!!

She encourages people to think positively while challenging them to push the limits of what they believe is possible – hence her slogan, “Get What You Came For.”

The History behind INERGY Kelly’s Bootcamp

When my father passed away from a rare neurological disease in 2008, I decided to do a fundraiser to support research. In November 2008, I was shocked by the number of people willing to join me for what I called “Black Friday Boot Camp” to support MSA.

Both the participants and I found exercising outdoors to be liberating and energizing. I quickly decided that this was something I wanted to try again. On March 1, 2009, I started my first Boot Camp Program. The objectives for my program were to get people to exercise (especially those that wouldn’t otherwise), make it affordable, require accountability, and have fun.

While my dad may not have looked favorably on working out in a parking lot, I know he would be proud of what I have accomplished. From his example, I learned to work hard, take risks, and, most importantly, do something you are passionate about. I love what I do, the people I have met, and the transformations that I have been able to share in. I also love knowing that my father gave me the power to begin such a significant venture.

The success of KBC grew, and I started to build a team of dedicated participants that exemplified what it meant to work hard and get better. As the KBC team gained experience and went on to get certified and trained as fitness and nutrition professionals, it was clear that we had more to offer our community. The team and I worked together to develop and coach a small group training program called Camp U that was to be the model for some of the possible offerings in the indoor space.

On May 3, 2017, we opened INERGY. In this unique indoor training studio, we offer a variety of classes and small group training programs at different times to meet people where they are in their journey to fitness. INERGY is everything I dreamed it to be and more. By increasing our offerings, we are reaching more people and becoming a one-stop shop with an amazing array of classes and programs.

So many of our long-time students have told us that working out with KBC is the best part of their day that in 2021 we adapted that as our new tagline.
