As a human being, food is a lot of things to me: safety, comfort, love, celebration, risky, painful, destructive, constructive, empowering, and rewarding.
As a nutrition coach, I embrace the spectrum of roles food can play in our lives and work with my clients to do the same so we can erase the “good” and “bad” labels we assign our food—and often ourselves by extension.
I believe the key to an empowering relationship with food stems from understanding just a few simple nutrition principles (macros). No foods are off limits—rather we use these basic principles to guide our food choices on a daily basis the same way we make different daily decisions about how to spend our time or our money.
This approach allows for a custom framework for each individual that accounts for their personal goals, lifestyle, and needs. I meet you where you are and design a sustainable roadmap for where you want to go or how you want to feel.

I had just turned 60 at the time, and was so concerned about that ominous prognosis of weight / fat gain and muscle atrophy that we are told is inevitable as women age, and seemingly accelerates after entering that sixth decade. I have become pretty good at logging my food in the My Fitness Pal app.
Because I am a rule follower and I stay consistent, when I have a splurge it doesn’t make as much of a negative impact as it once did and it is so much easier to get right back on track! (that’s a non-negotiable, gotta stick with it and get back on track)

“I signed up for the Cut The Fat program led by Gretchen Comey in April 2024. I was very interested in learning more about how to count macros for weight loss. I was looking for something to get me out of my current diet and exercise rut which was doing nothing for me. From the start, Gretchen provided lots of information and was always very available whenever I had any questions. After my initial inbody and questionnaire, she came up with a nutrition plan tailored for me to meet my goals. I was a little cautious when she said I needed to increase my daily calories, but I trusted her as she shared her own journey with counting macros to meet her weight and fitness goals.
